Martial Art is an art which arose as a way a person in self-defenseIt is the tradition of fighting with or without weapons, and often without using guns orother modern weapons.Martial art has long existed, and at first it grew on the battlefield before slowly when warhas been reduced and the use of modern weapons were first used widely.Martial arts can be said there is every where around the world and almost every countryhas a martial art developed either locally or modified from the martial art that seepsout.For example, martial arts is a martial art that flourished in the ASEAN countries and in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Brunei.However, the relationship and communication facilities available at this time to facilitate the development of ideas and martial arts are no longer confined to the landoriginally, but has grown throughout the world.Martial arts are divided into several types of armed combat art sharp, not sharpweapons such as wood, and the art of empty hand combat. Among the types ofpopular martial arts are as follows: -


Silat 


Silat is an art of self defense used by the Malay people.There are several types of silat,silat cekak,silat gayung,silat kalam,and many other. The hand sign used is dependent on style and lineage.Silat employs a weapon like dagger(keris),machete (parang ),walking stick (tongkat ) and sarong.Movements of silat are often performed as a dance during festivies such as weddings or royal installation


Aikido
